The Highlander
This is The Highlander
Malcolm Forbes famously owned several motor yachts since 1955, which he always baptised The Highlander, due to the Scottish origins of his family. In 1964 this third The Highlander was designed by De Voogt and built in Aalsmeer, and its 35.40-metre length and 6.90-metre beam broke the shipyard’s record. Mrs Forbes christened her on 11 March 1967, and shortly afterwards the couple embarked on a maiden voyage from Aalsmeer to New York via Istanbul.
