This is Daria
Launched in September 1979, the 48.00-metre Daria was equipped with the latest technical and electronic equipment available anywhere in the world. This included - for the first time on a Feadship - a satellite communication system. Three Marisat satellites were accessed, using a disc antenna positioned in a dome on the mast. The whole setup - which was completely automatic - was connected to two electronic telexes and a telecopier. This satcom achievement heralded the beginning of revolutionary changes in the way in which yachts would be used. She represented a milestone in yachtbuilding in many other ways, and her perfect proportions, innovative oil-bath shaft lines and the arrangement of her propeller with the stern would go on to inspire other Feadship owners.
