Environmental considerations - an immensely important issue by the end of the 1980s - had come to the fore at Feadship in the elegant shape of Diana II as early as 1979. This impressive 60.55m (198'8") yacht was given an afterburner installation for both the main engines and he generators to keep the decks and the environment clean. Diana II possessed a number of other new features, including an onboard air treatment system for air conditioning and a helipad.
