Scouring the Feadship archives during the rebuild of Sultana in 2007, the yacht's manager found the original documents for sister-ship Monara. Tracked down five years later in Barcelona, the new owners ordered a full rebuild at Feadship. After stripping the hull to bare metal everything on board was replaced except for the Gardner main engines, the steering wheel and some deck gear. These wonderful historical artefacts were carefully overhauled and reinstated to retain the connection with the sixties on a yacht that now has all the luxuries of modern times. A window in the main deck showcases the gloriously restored engines to guests. All living areas on Monara were optimised in terms of space and comfort while maintaining a classic appearance. The bulwark was extended to hide the tender and crane so they are no longer visible from the side. The top deck, previously occupied by the tender, was transformed into a lovely area for guests.
