The Dutch Royal yacht Piet Hein has been officially welcomed into the Feadship Heritage Fleet during a ceremony in Amsterdam. The 31-metre motoryacht, presented by the Dutch people to Princess Juliana and Prince Bernhard in 1937, was designed by Henri W. de Voogt and is considered an icon in the early history of Feadship.

The membership was confirmed with the signing of the certificate and the placement of the Heritage Fleet insignia on board. In recognition of her special historical significance, Piet Hein was also named flagship of the Feadship Heritage Fleet.

Since 1980, the yacht has been maintained by the Piet Hein Foundation and remains in full operation thanks to the dedication of volunteers. During the Sail-in of SAIL Amsterdam, Piet Hein led the fleet into the city, accompanied by 35 Feadship Heritage Fleet yachts.
