Fabulous night for Feadship at World Superyacht Awards
Motor Yacht of the Year 2016

Feadship enjoyed a splendid evening last Saturday at the World Superyacht Awards ceremony in the palatial surroundings of Florence’s town hall. Over 500 owners and industry leaders assembled in the Palazzo Vecchio to hear which of the finalists would ultimately be called on to the stage to receive the much coveted Neptune statues.

The number one award in the powerboat world is the Motor Yacht of the Year prize, and we were delighted that the Feadship Savannah came out on top having already won her category for ‘displacement motoryacht from 1,300GT to 2,999GT’. The judges praised this 83.50-metre masterpiece, saying that she “excelled in so many different areas that her selection as winner was almost unanimous.”

The jury, which was comprised of 22 superyacht owners and renowned industry experts, expressed it in its delight at the harmony of Savannah’s exterior lines, her hybrid propulsion system and the layout of her exterior and interior areas. “Not only is Savannah an inspirationally elegant yacht, but the quality of design and construction – right down to the last detail – demonstrates the level of craftsmanship to which many aspire but few achieve,” commented the judges. “She is an incredible yacht that excels in all aspects and is a worthy winner.”

We were also extremely pleased that the 101.50-metre Symphony took home the award for ‘displacement motoryacht of 2,999GT and above’. The judges explained that they were hugely impressed with this Feadship’s “stunningly beautiful exterior lines, the division of her interior spaces and the incredible quality and attention to detail that had been invested in all areas."

“Feadship successfully addressed many challenging technical issues that arose from the new PYC code to which the yacht is built. Symphony is a remarkable story of design, craftsmanship and technological innovation that has been cleverly combined to totally satisfy the owner’s requirements.”

A special mention also to the Feadship’s Kiss and Moon Sand which were finalists in their respective categories, and the Feadship Go, which was a finalist in the best refit competition.

Last but by no means least, we would like to express our sincere gratitude to the owners of all the Feadships mentioned above, without whom none of this would have been possible. And congratulations to everyone involved in another year of award-winning achievements!
