About Ibis

Directly after WWII, it was forbidden to build pleasure craft because of materials shortage. Although the De Vries yard itself had not suffered any material damage from the war, the sheds were empty, and only 32 of the original workforce remained. In 1949 the first post-war steel yacht was built, the 13.00m Ibis.
