About Cabo Riomayor

The Aalsmeer yard still proudly displays in its lobby the model of Cabo Riomayor, the 30.43-metre firefighting boat built for the Argentine state oil company YPF in1954. It was a colossal order for the yard at the time, costing nearly a million Dutch guilders, and featured eleven water cannons, 25 railing sprinklers and 59 hoses with a total length of 900 metres and an extinguishing capacity of 30,000 litres of water per minute and 4,000 litres of foam. The yard continued building special vessels until 1976, when Feadship’s international success left them little time to build anything other than luxury yachts.
