About Baby Weekender

Between 1952 and 1956 around eighteen rather small wooden sailing yachts were built for American market by various yards of the Feadship organisation. Feadship built these so-called Baby Weekenders in three sizes: 7.32-metre, 7.62-metre, and 9.14-metre. In January 1955 this 9.14-metre Baby Weekender was exhibited in New York. She had a beam of 2.46-metre and 1.22-metre draught. The keel counterweight was made of cast iron and weighed 930 kilograms, the hull made of mahogany with bent oak frames and the 11.40-metre mast and boom made of silver spruce.
