Ancor

1960

This is Ancor

In 1960 a twin-screw, steel motor yacht designed by H.W. de Voogt was delivered to the Verolme Scheepswerf Alblasserdam N.V. The yacht was intended as a management vessel for Mr C. Verolme. The launch of Ancor took place on Tuesday, 17 May 1960 and was performed by Mr Verolme's youngest daughter, Tineke. Afterwards she was presented with flowers by Joh. de Vries's – then four-year-old grandson – Joop de Vries. The name Ancor was derived from the first letters of the names of Anneke and Cornelis Verolme.
