About Santa Maria

It was the young designer Frits de Voogt who flew to New York to meet Henry Ford Ⅱ. Negotiations were held in a 5th Avenue apartment overlooking Central Park, and the 32.90m (107'1') Santa Maria was ordered within a fortnight, at that time the most expensive Feadship ever built.
