About Monara

Similar to her sister ship Sultana (ex Din Dina) Monara was found in 2012 in a desperate state. Although still sailing she really needed a lot of attention which she received from her new proud owners. After their acquisition they decided to go through the same paces as was done with Sultana. In hands of an experienced manager the owner brought her to the Feadship Refit yard in Makkum to go through a full rebuild programme. After stripping the hull to bare metal everything on board was replaced except for the Gardner main engines, the steering wheel and some deck gear. These parts were carefully overhauled and reinstated to stay in connection with the sixties, which were years the owner had cherished so much. "Yesterday when I was young" ...... says the old song.
